VOH BOARD OF DIRECTORS MINUTES OF MEETING 5/7/11

The meeting was called to order by President, John Doub, at 12:30PM at the VOH Fitness Center. Attendee were John Doub, Jim Blaylock, Frank Cetera and Bernadette McLoughlin. Vicky and Dick Garvey of the Management Company both attended.

Ashley Currin of Brown LLP later joined the meeting.

The board voted unanimously to accept the minutes of the 3/26/20ll BOD meeting.

The minutes of the 3/26/2011 Executive Minutes were not complete and will be voted on at a later date.

Dan Hunt has resigned from the board. Each member of the BOD was asked to seek a candidate who would be interested in filling this position. This candidate would not be involved in the pending lawsuit that was brought against the board earlier this week.

Jeff Spokes of the LRPC recently sent three quotes for the board to review in reference to possibly upgrading our VOH website. The board will review these quotes and discuss at the next meeting.

Jim Blaylock has spoken with Holly White from the Currituck County Planning Department. The trees that were planted along the Multi-Use Path have a one year guarantee and any dead trees will be removed and replaced.

It has also come to our attention that Currituck County intends to extend the Multi-use path north to High Dune loop and possibly to the gates at the beach entrance. They have requested that the association work with them on placement of a bike rack and access to beach. Bernadette will speak to Holly and get a formal proposal to be considered.

The Currituck County UDO is being revised. Within the next two months we are anticipating a change to how and when the developer turns over Open Space to Homeowners Associations.

The board members, Management Company, and lawyer for the insurance company took a walk along the newly constructed path. She advised us not to discuss this issue with anyone and not to allow the subject to be discussed at the Spring Meeting. She requested that the board forward her all emails and correspondence, and refrain from all conversations relevant to the lawsuit and the pathways. A letter was recently sent to members of the community by those who have filed and/or threatened to file a lawsuit.

The next meeting was set for Friday, June 3rd @ 5 PM at the fitness center.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:50PM so that the Board, Management Company and Lawyer could attend the VOH Spring Meeting at the Corolla Library.
